How to root MTK mobile for running Neuropilot Tools?

Hello,

I am going through various tools provided by Neuropilot 8 and 9 premium versions, like running offline compiled models(.dla) on mobile, Neuron Runtime Profiler, NPU SysTrace Tool, DLA profile guided optimizer etc.

One common prerequisite for these tools is that mobile should be rooted or be in userdebug mode.

Currently, the mobile I have with D9400 processor, doesn’t have these permissions and I am unable to find any official source to root the device aswell.

I am very interested to explore various capabilities of MTK neuropilot but this seems like a blocker to me currently.

Is there any workaround, or way to run these tools without rooting or are there some specific steps through which I can root the device?
It would be really helpful if I can get some answers on how I can proceed to explore and work with these tools.

Regards,

Nimesh

Hi @Nimesh_Katoriwala

Since you are using a mobile with D9400 processor, the image flashed in your device would be a user image with no root capabilities. You’d have to use third party rooting methods to root your device. Do note, doing so might damage your device and void your device warranty.
Having said that, we do not have any specific workarounds, and you can use any of the known methods to root your device.
