Need help choosing a DIY home theater SBC

Hey everyone!

I’m diving into the world of DIY home theaters and I’m pretty new to genio platforms. I’m on the hunt for an affordable SBC that can run either OpenELEC or Ubuntu. Ideally, I’d love for it to handle 4K HD video streaming from my home NAS and also provide smooth web browsing.

Any recommendations on which board would be best for this? Thanks a bunch!

Radxa NIO 12L is an SBC powered by the Genio 1200, running Ubuntu.

The key feature of the Genio 1200 is its 4K multimedia capabilities:

  • Video Decode: H.264/H.265/AV1/VP9 (4K@90fps)
  • Video Encode: H.264/H.265 (4K@60fps)
  • Multi-Display: Triple display, up to 4K60 + 4K30 + 4K30
