Trying to make Genio 700 EVK as Bluetooth headset with a PC host

I’d like to configure Genio700 EVK as a Bluetooth headset device to a host. In other words, Genio700 EVK should enumerate on host as a Bluetooth speaker as well as microphone. The expected user scenario is similar to the case where a PC joins an online meeting using a Bluetooth headset. Particularly, in my case, I’d like to use Genio700 EVK as a Bluetooth headset.

For experimental purposes, I paired and connected Genio700 EVK to a PC (host). Then, the EVK enumerated as ‘mtk-genio (Connected audio)’ and I was able to stream music from the PC to the EVK, confirming that A2DP is working.

However, I don’t see anything enumerated on the audio input device list on PC, indicating that HFP is not working.

How can I enable the Bluetooth bidirectional audio (e.g., HFP)?

I guess you’ve just encounter the same issue as post Bluetooth - hands free profile .

The quick answer is that the hardware of AzureWave MT7921 module doesn’t have 4 SCO/PCM pins to support HFP profile. So you couldn’t enable HFP profile.
