I am using Ubuntu on Genio and encounter some problems. Who shall I contact for support?

Ubuntu on the Genio involves three main software components:

  • Boot Firmware: Using UEFI EBBR (compliant with SystemReady IR Certification), the system boots into the Ubuntu OS. This part is typically managed by the board manufacturer.

  • Ubuntu OS: This includes Grub, Ubuntu Kernel (Canonical help to maintained a downstream version for Genio), and the Ubuntu rootfs. Canonical is responsible for these components.

  • Ubuntu Packages(SnapStore): The software on Ubuntu consists of open-source packages. For some packages, Canonical ensures they run correctly on the corresponding version of Ubuntu. Some package remining as open-source community support.

The general guidance to get supported:

  • For General Ubuntu issues that seems to be software only, the best way to find answer is from community

  • Problems occurs on Genio-EVK and might be related to hardware, you may ask in this forum.

  • Problems occurs on OEM board (PCB, SOM) and might be related to hardware, you shall contact the board vendor to get supported.
