IoT Yocto v25.1 Released

IoT Yocto v25.1 provides new Genio 520/720 SoC support, along with feature updates and fixes for previous Genio platforms.

Key Highlights:

  • New SoC Support : Support for Genio 520 (MT8371) and Genio 720 (MT8391) families.
  • Shared BSP : Genio 520 and 720 EVK share the same prebuilt image. The bootloader also detects DRAM type and size automatically.
  • AI & Browser : Integration of ONNX Runtime (with NPU acceleration for G520/720) and updated Chromium browser.
  • LTS Updates : Upgraded to Linux Kernel 6.6.92 and Yocto Scarthgap 5.0.12.

IoT Yocto v25.1 prebuilt images for Genio EVK boards are also available for download.

The Get Started guide has been updated with instructions for Genio 520/720 EVK.

Genio Tools v1.7 is also released to support image flashing for Genio 520/720 EVK, in addition to previous Genio SoCs.

Visitors could use the selector on the upper-left corner of the web page to switch between the previous v25.0 release.

Please note that not all the Genio 520/720 BSP documentation are complete now.

We will update the missing Genio 520/720 documents in coming weeks.

I used Google notebooklm to go through the v25.1 release note. Although there are some mis-spellings, overall it looks amazing. Especially it supports Chromium browser and ONNX runtime!
